Stephanie Snyder joins LION Publishers as Director of Membership
In this role, Stephanie will ensure that LION is delivering the highest value possible to its members.
We’re thrilled to share that LION has hired Stephanie Snyder, a community engagement specialist with years of experience supporting digital-only newsrooms, as our new Director of Membership.
In this role, Stephanie will ensure that LION is delivering the highest value possible to its existing members and is helping us reach new ones. Stephanie’s experience in deep community listening, audience growth and product design make her an exceptional addition to our team and we couldn’t be more pleased to have her help ensuring LION is consistently meeting its members’ needs.
Stephanie most recently worked at Hearken, where she led consulting work to help organizations better listen to, engage with and be in service of their stakeholders. As the senior engagement manager at Hearken, she worked with dozens of independent news publications, and before that role, worked in audience and community engagement at two independent news publications, Denverite and Chalkbeat, a LION member.
Stephanie is based in Denver, Colorado, where you can often find her hiking, camping, and practicing yoga. She is happiest when spending time in nature and has visited more than half of the country’s 63 National Parks.
In her role with LION, Stephanie’s most immediate priorities will include:
- Setting and implementing LION’s strategic and annual plan goals related to membership growth and retention
- Supporting our upcoming membership drive to invite prospective members into LION
- Collaborating with our team to design new membership programming and training opportunities
- Working to make our News Entrepreneur Slack community’s member and non-member channels a welcoming and inclusive place for discussion about independent news
We’re so excited to have Stephanie’s help in making LION the destination for independent news entrepreneurs and news businesses. You can reach her at [email protected].
